An NFTpainting i'll Never Sale: "Death Angel" by Infrapunk666

Death, and Angel, two contrasting characters in one body. Faceless. More like a male to me. Waving his left hand doing something unknown disappearing in the darkness.

It's been a month since i join NFT world. They call it "crypto market crash" now. i don't know much about the investment part of NFT currently, so here i am again, writing an artwork i like a lot:

"Death Angel": Dark Ambient Music Playing. by Infrapunk666

Before i relate myself to this work, i have to jump to this artist first. This artist, Infrapunk666, is a really mysterious character in our group for me:

every time he drops new pieces, sold out in a minute, quickly go to second market, then being listed at about 5 to 10 t; and still, there're ppl want to buy them. i'm always like "Whaaaaaaaaat-----? Again? Seriously? Who the fxck is this punk guy?" (And yes, newbie as me never got any chance to buy in first price.)

His paintings are mostly relatively small hand-drawn pieces with unbridled brush strokes, usually depict dark scenes with human figures; and, if you also notice, there are always an indistinguishable cross-shaped folding lines on it.

This lightning "Infrapunk666 Shopping Rush" is merely happening within our friend group, secretly, FOR NOW. Honestly, i don't know where does this frenziedly collecting custom in the group come from, so here i partially quote a review written by Lai_Jheng_Huang, who joined this group longer than me:

"The works of Infrapunk666 always have a rebellious feeling. They're not vicious, but more like those disobedient cool kids when we were at school. The doodles all over their textbooks are always stunning like another world, that even if u are lucky enough to join the cool kids club, u still feel that they are the cooler ones."

While I'm still wondering why all his works are such a big hit, i do have a strong and straightforward emotion toward one of his works: the "Death Angel."

When i collected it, i wrote on my twitter:

"I finally collect this one by @infrapunk666 ! 10t for a newbie is like spending all the coins in the piggy bank for an Nintendo. But I REALLY NEED THIS. 𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝑰𝑺 a Death Angel in my mind and I keep suppressing it for a long time.... #incaseibecomeadeathangeloneday"

Death, and Angel, two contrasting characters in one body. Faceless. More like a male to me. Waving his left hand doing something unknown disappearing in the darkness. And the white robe and the widely spread wing makes me feel sacred. i do not care what exactly he is doing. i follow, i worship. i want his protection, i want him to help me, no matter what kinds of help it is; because i don't know when will i loose my mind, because i don't know what exactly will i commit when THE time comes (or not.)

Therefore i collected it. At a price that i've never spent so much so far. i could swear that i'm not going to sell it no matter how much its price raises in the future, because this artwork gives me a sense of security:

when my mind is in chaotic, i can think of it, look at it, feeling either the tenderness of being embraced by his soft feathers and robes, or the strong power of whatever he is capable of doing and empower to me....

That is my echo to the work "Death Angel" by Infrapunk666. It's amazing how a small piece of painting can give me such a mixed feeling. And i think it might be one of the reasons that causes the "Infrapunk666 Shopping Rush":

we relate to his works, because more or less we all have dark emotions inside our minds. When these emotions are being drawn, being actualized into images by an artist, we're like looking in the mirror, seeing our own reflections, facing the darkness that we ourselves are afraid to admit, assuming that we have a place to settle our minds down, thus makes us feel... safe?

i don't know. It's just my feelings. Some might agree but some won't. Anyway, since i'm just too curious about Infrapunk666, his creative concepts and art journey, i did a short interview with him, which you can continue reading in the article below:
